The Work Behind My Work

This is not the version of this bio that lists credentials in the right order and says nothing true.

I spent more than two decades inside corporate America — not observing from the outside but working inside the rooms where talent decisions were made. Performance reviews. Succession planning. Exit packages. I was in those rooms. And I watched, year after year, as brilliant, capable, over-delivering Black professionals were passed over, overlooked, underpaid, and under-credited. Not because they lacked excellence. Because no one had given them access to the real rules of the game being played right in front of them.

 

So I built LeaderKeys™.

I kept hearing the word "gatekeeping" — at the end of my corporate career and at the beginning of this one. That is exactly what I set out to change. The gates persist. We provide keys.

 

Everything here — every program, keynote, and workshop — is designed to educate, activate, and elevate. We are not here to make clients work harder. They are already working harder. We are not here to teach them to perform confidence. Performing is exhausting and it does not last. We are here to help them understand the system, name their value, find their voice, and move with intention.

 

In early 2026, I took the TEDxLakeAlfred stage with "What Happens When You Stop Apologizing for Existing." I had been building toward those words for years. My chapter in Triumph in the Trenches, Vol. 3 — 5 HR Secrets Every Black Professional Should Know — puts 22+ years of insider knowledge into the hands of the professionals who needed it most and were never given access to it.

 

The Career Accelerator for Black Women exists because most leadership development was not built with Black women in mind. It does not account for the visibility tax, the sponsorship gap, or the particular exhaustion of being excellent in a space that keeps asking you to prove it again. We built something that does.

 

This is the work. All of it is connected. And it starts with one belief: Black women do not need to be fixed. They need to be resourced.

Latrice brings more than 22 years of corporate experience across HR, talent management, leadership development, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness. She has worked across industries and at multiple levels of organizational complexity — from frontline management support to executive leadership development.

Because once you have clarity and your voice is no longer suppressed, you stop being stuck. You make the ask. You have the conversation. You apply for the role. You negotiate the offer. You walk into the room differently. You move.
